Portfolio
Fifteen album credits and more than 300 podcast episodes, across hip hop, pop, jazz, gospel, classical, and spoken word. Carter has recorded and produced in rooms including Abbey Road, Skywalker Sound, and Blackbird Studio, as well as his own North Nashville studio. A selection of that work is below.
Hip Hop & Music Production
Sample-based drums, big vocal stacks, and the early-2000s-to-2010s hip hop and pop sound that Carter loves to build, all the way up to full-band productions.
All Genres
Funk, jazz, gospel, spoken word, and projects that refuse a label. One favorite: two days in the studio with Marcus Lattimore, five or six songs built mostly on the spot, moving from free jazz to a full gospel choir.
Classical & Live Instrumentation
Vibraphone, brass, upright piano, and players who know the music. This is where Carter's lifelong training as a pianist and percussionist shows, including his contributions to the Fisk Jubilee Singers' Grammy-winning Celebrating Fisk!
Podcast
More than 300 episodes mixed and mastered, including The Bystanders featuring Kristin Chenoweth, Jane Lynch, and Heather Morris.

Do you own the masters on tracks in the portfolio?
All portfolio work is shared with the artist's permission. Master ownership is determined per project and spelled out in the written agreement before work begins.
Can I use these tracks as references for my project?
Yes, please do. References are one of the first things requested on any project. Send the songs you want to sound like, or the artists you'd want to share a playlist with, whether they're from this page or anywhere else.
How recent is the portfolio?
It's updated regularly as new work is released.
What if my genre isn't represented here?
Reach out anyway. The portfolio is a fraction of the work, and no genre is off the table. Whether it's metal, country, or a hard switch from hip hop to punk mid-song, every style is trying to communicate an idea and an emotion, and the job is to bring out whatever you're going for.
